John A. Buric, a longstanding shareholder of Warner Angle, has a multi-faceted law practice and a broad knowledge base acquired in over 35 years of law practice encompassing numerous subject areas including business, construction, contracts, real estate, homeowner and community association law, mobile home, RV and manufactured home community law, notary law, arbitration, mediation, consumer law, landlord-tenant, state administrative proceedings (including the Registrar of Contractors and the Arizona Department of Housing), and civil litigation.  He also served as a Maricopa County Superior Court Civil Judge Pro Tem for 17 years.  He is peer review rated “AV/Preeminent” for the highest level of professional excellence and ethics, repeatedly recognized by the Best Lawyers in America, and is also recognized as a Top Construction Law Fellow by the Construction Lawyers Society of America.

Mr. Buric received his B.A. degree in business administration, cum laude, from Augustana College, Illinois, and his Doctor of Jurisprudence, with distinction, from the University of Iowa College of Law, where he was a member of the Iowa Law Review.  He subsequently served as a law clerk/extern to the Honorable James Duke Cameron, Justice of the Arizona Supreme Court.

Mr. Buric is admitted to practice law in the States of Arizona and Colorado, the United States District Court of Arizona and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Mr. Buric remains devoted to educating individuals and businesses to help them understand and comply with applicable laws, make wise business and legal decisions, plan for the future, and anticipate and avoid problems.  He presents educational seminars and authors articles on multiple topics including construction, manufactured housing communities, notary law, contracts, and others.

Legal Experience

Mediation/Arbitration

Mr. Buric has served as an independent mediator and arbitrator for over 25 years, including seventeen years as a Superior Court Judge Pro Tem.  He has assisted countless parties to successfully resolve disputes and avoid costly legal proceedings.

 

Commercial and Civil Litigation

Mr. Buric has handled a wide variety of commercial and civil litigation matters and appeals, including business, real estate, homeowners’ and community associations, construction, contracts, consumer, warranties, building inspections, mobile and manufactured housing, torts, and others.  He also represents individuals and businesses in State administrative proceedings, such as the Arizona Registrar of Contractors and the Department of Housing.

 

Case and Strategy Consultant to Businesses and Law Firms

Mr. Buric has served as a consultant to businesses and other law firms by providing independent evaluations and case assessment services, second opinions, strategic input, and behind the scenes support for other law firms seeking additional resources.

 

Business Law and Transactions

Mr. Buric represents and advises diverse businesses on contracts, transactions, negotiations, liability avoidance, legal planning, litigation and day-to-day business matters.  He has been involved in business purchase and sale transactions, franchises, business disputes, drafting of contracts and leases, real estate transactions and litigation.

 

Homeowner and Community Association Law

Mr. Buric has assisted homeowners, residential homeowner associations and commercial community associations, and management firms with a diverse array of matters, including document interpretation, contracts, business, construction, master and sub-association disputes, litigation and dispute resolution, mediation, property disputes, real estate, and other matters.  Mr. Buric also has an active mediation practice for resolving disputes among homeowners, associations, and management companies.

 

Construction Law/ Contractors and Owners

Mr. Buric has represented a diverse array of contractors, providing them with day-to-day advice, contract assistance, dispute resolution, the pursuit or defense of construction claims, and matters with the Registrar of Contractors.  He has also assisted property owners with warranty issues, construction defects, deficient inspections, and matters with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors.  Mr. Buric also has decades of experience addressing matters involving high-end custom homes and provides sensible advice to contractors and property owners, handles administrative complaints, and assists in resolving disputes between contractors and property owners.  Mr. Buric has been a member of the State Bar Construction Law Section since 1989, has authored educational articles for the industry and has repeatedly been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America for construction attorneys and a Top Construction Law Fellow by the Construction Law Society of America.

 

Manufactured Home/Mobile Home/RV Community Law

Since the 1980’s, Mr. Buric has exclusively advised and represented the owners, developers and management of residential manufactured home communities and resorts, mobile home communities and recreational vehicle communities on matters involving a broad range of state and federal laws, contracts, business matters, real estate, development issues, property disputes, eminent domain, governmental disputes, purchases and sales, financing and re-financing, fair housing,  administrative complaints, litigation and other matters.  He also drafts legally required leasing documents and assists in developing sound business practices to allow landlords to comply with the law, create housing stability and improve the quality of life for residents, avoid problems and improve their communities.  Mr. Buric’s clientele includes communities and resorts which are locally owned and operated, as well as those owned by out-of-state individuals, businesses and REITS who desire highly experienced local legal counsel.

Mr. Buric is experienced in representing communities in all aspects of dispute resolution and litigation, including matters presented to the Arizona Department of Housing, and he presents educational seminars and authors articles on important issues to benefit the manufactured housing industry.

 

Real Estate

Mr. Buric has addressed a wide variety of real estate matters, including leasing, purchases and sales, condemnation/eminent domain, documents, property disputes, landlord-tenant, and development issues.  Warner Angle’s solid team of real estate, transactional and construction attorneys allow for full-service representation on virtually any type of real estate matter.

 

Consumer Law

Mr. Buric has assisted individuals and businesses in consumer matters, including purchase and sales transactions, contracts, real estate, theft, negligent property inspections, breach of contract, condemnation/eminent domain, warranty claims and consumer fraud.

 

Landlord-Tenant Law / Real Estate

Mr. Buric handles landlord-tenant matters and primarily focuses on representing property owners.  He prepares leases and customized rental documents, litigates and negotiates the resolution of disputes, and addresses matters in court and administrative proceedings.

 

Notary Law and Errors

Notaries and notarial acts serve important functions in personal and business transactions.  However, improper notarial acts can render affidavits and verifications invalid, jeopardize real estate and business transactions, and allow fraud to occur.  Mr. Buric has served as a notary public and has been involved in legal and litigation matters involving notary fraud and notarial errors.  Mr. Buric has provided educational seminars to law firms and businesses on notary law, including how to properly perform the acts of a notary, the implications if errors are made, details to evaluate when assessing notarized documents, errors that may  constitute malpractice or cause a document or transaction to be invalid, and how to properly use the services of a notary and effectively supervise notary employees.  Mr. Buric provides forensic evaluations of notarial acts, serves as an expert on notarial acts and transactions, and helps businesses and law firms develop legally compliant notary policies.
